    Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 31 March 2026

    1. Who we are

Jules ("we", "us", "our") operates the Jules platform, a marketplace assistant available at racks.markets. We are based in New Zealand and this policy is governed by the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

Our privacy officer can be contacted at: [email protected]

    2. What information we collect

We collect the following personal information:

    • Account information — email address, and name/profile picture if you sign in with Google or Meta.
    • Chat content — the messages you send through our AI assistant.
    • Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, and device/browser information collected automatically.

We collect this information when you create an account, sign in via a third-party provider, or use the chat feature.

    3. Why we collect it

We collect your personal information to:

    • Provide and operate the Jules service
    • Personalise your experience and remember your preferences
    • Communicate with you about your account or our service
    • Improve and develop our platform
    • Meet our legal obligations

Under the Privacy Act 2020, we are required to tell you the purpose of collection at the time we collect it. We will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent.

    4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

    • Supabase — our authentication and database provider. Data may be stored on servers outside New Zealand (AWS infrastructure). Supabase complies with applicable data protection standards.
    • Anthropic — the provider of our AI chat functionality. Messages you send may be processed by Anthropic's API. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
    • Google / Meta — if you choose to sign in via these providers, they share limited profile information with us under their own privacy policies.

Where your information is sent overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives comparable protection to that required under the Privacy Act 2020 (IPP 12).

    5. How long we keep it

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see section 7).

    6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and understand how people use our service. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

    7. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

    • Ask whether we hold personal information about you
    • Request access to that information
    • Request correction of any inaccurate information
    • Ask us to delete your account and associated data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Act.

    8. Data breaches

If we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as required under the Privacy Act 2020.

    9. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have done so in error, please contact us.

    10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised date. For significant changes we will notify you by email or a notice on the site.

    11. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
